We decided to take a look at the Jardin Majorelle, made by the French painter Jacques Majorelle. Fashion couple, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé bought the garden in 1960 to prevent the garden of being a victim of a real estate project. They fell in love with the garden and so did I! The colors of cobalt blue are insanely beautiful – it is everywhere and easy to become fixated with. The way Mr. Majorelle combined nature (plants) with deep colors being layered in different shapes, are a real piece of art. His vision have been kept even after the restoration and the garden is nowadays one of the most popular sights in Marrakech. When Yves Saint Laurent past away in 2008, his ashes were scattered in the Rose Garden of Villa Oase. Even a memorial was built in the garden so that visitors can remember him and his contribution to fashion. This cultural trip that had to be a 15 minute visit, became a 2 hour long shooting set (partly daydreaming)!
